This TRCR educational platform was built in 2021 as part of a donor funded initiative, to assist people in communities around the globe both during and after conflict.

In 2020, a psychological framework was developed to provide a trauma-responsive, adaptive approach to helping people and communities heal after trauma and support peace-building on an individual, family, community and national level; namely, Trauma Responsive Community Reconciliation (TRCR). The adaptive nature of the framework has been designed to ensure contextualised solutions; honouring and integrating social and cultural norms of the communities being supported, whilst also addressing the physiological and neurological changes that occur in individuals as a result of distress and duress, and the ripple effect across groups.

TRCR is an evolving approach to addressing the impact of conflict and trauma within communities. It is supported by experienced psychologists, conflict advisors and humanitarian specialists. TRCR is led by SafeHaven, a UK-based international organisation who specialise in crisis, disaster and trauma-responsive psychosocial care.
